Samsung’s S series have always been the go-to phones for almost all Android lovers because they're the one who features a lot such as multiple screen sizes and extravagant camera quality.

According to tech experts, the release of Samsung S20 series is so far the world's biggest Android launch of the year.

The annual Unpacked event launched Canada’s first 5G-enabled devices with the Galaxy S20 5G family. Just like last year, there are three variations of the new flagship smartphone.

Galaxy S20 Specs

Here are the specs of these smartphones. The smallest model is the standard Galaxy S20. It has a 6.2-inch display, 563ppi pixel density, a 4,000mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Not bad for the smallest flagship phone, right?

On the other hand, here's what the Galaxy S20 Plus can offer. It has a more manageable display at 6.7 inches, a still-big 4,500mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, and 128 or 512GB of storage. The display panels are certified HDR10+ for the best possible contrast and colour.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra is the best and biggest in this lineup. It has a massive display of 6.9 inches, taller and thicker than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The battery is at 5,000mAh, the most amount of RAM at 12 or 16GB, and with 128 or 512GB storage. It also has a stainless steel frame, while the other two models have an aluminium frame.

Another most remarkable improvements Samsung achieved in this new flagship phones is a hole-punch camera both front and back. The Galaxy S20 and Samsung S20 Plus both have a wide-angle, telephoto and ultrawide cameras, while the S20 Plus and the S20 Ultra have time-of-flight camera that measures depth for AR applications. The Galaxy S20 Ultra’s camera system is one of its main selling points, including a huge 108-megapixel sensor and a lens up to 100x zoom.

The three models of Samsung Galaxy S20 series are all equipped with the same processor, the Exynos 990 CPU (a Snapdragon 865 in the US), and an Adreno 650 GPU.

However, if you want a 5G Android phone as your main smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S20 isn’t the best choice, because it doesn’t support both sub-6-GHz networks and mmWave technologies like the S20 Plus and S20 Ultra do.

The Design

Reviews said that Samsung Galaxy S20 series are all comfortable to hold and feels pretty light as well. Although the material used for the outer part is durable, many critics claim that the design is quite boring, especially the grey variant of the S20 Plus. The colour looks dull for a premium phone with that high price. Gladly, the phone comes in two more colours which are blue and white.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra has spectacular hardware and camera, however, tech experts easily define it as "bland." Compare to the Note 10+, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is clearly lacking in terms of design and appeal. Gladly, the boring design of the phone will be covered once you put it in a nice case.
